CDCS Websites is run by Charlie and Connor in Manchester. We build websites for local businesses. This page explains what information we use, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. If you have any questions, email contact@cdcswebsites.co.uk.
When you contact us
If you use the form on our site or email us, we get the details you send: usually your name, your business and area, and a phone number or email address. We use them only to reply to you and, if you want one, to build your website. We don't add you to a mailing list and we never sell your details.
Business information we use for previews
To build a preview website, we use information a business has already made public on its Google listing: the business name, address, phone number, opening hours, photos and reviews. Photos and reviews in a preview are credited to the people who posted them. If you don't want a preview, tell us and we'll take it down and won't contact you again.
Why we're allowed to use it
We use these details because we have a legitimate interest in offering websites to local businesses and replying to people who get in touch. If you become a client, we use your details to carry out our agreement with you.
How long we keep it
- If you don't go ahead, we delete your details and any preview within 12 months, or straight away if you ask.
- If you become a client, we keep what we need while we look after your site, and for as long as the law requires for our accounts afterwards.
Who else sees it
Only the services we use to run the business: our website host (Vercel), our email provider and our payment provider (Stripe), each only to the extent needed. This site also loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser's IP address is sent to Google. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. Email contact@cdcswebsites.co.uk and we'll reply within a month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
